Our Jokester

Mea is honestly so funny! Here are some of her recent Mea-isms:

~"Daddy, your hair looks soggy!!" - This was a sign Nick needed a serious haircut!

~"Mommy, let me put me head on your tummy." "Why, honey?" I asked. "So the baby can kick me in the head!"

~"Daddy, you's funny!"

~"Look, it's a beautiful day!" - She says this every morning despite the weather.

~While grabbing my cheeks "oh, chubby cheeks. You cutie pie!"

~Mea was carrying around an old piece of newspaper. We asked her what it was...."instructions."

~Mea says "me" instead of "my" so we are always laughing because she sounds like a leprechaun from Ireland. "Comb me hairs." "Come to me kitchen."

~She will point to something and ask us "what is this?" When we respond she says "right!" She tends to do this when she does not know what something is and will ask "what is this?" "Right!" is her response, like she knew it all along.

We love you Mea and are surprised by you everyday!

Happy Day!

Nicks birthday was a few weeks ago and he was lucky enough to have 2 finals and a quiz on his special day!! Mea and I went to the store and she picked out Spiderman decorations. She honestly thinks he is Spiderman and Nick loves that! Anyway, the day before his birthday we went and bought part of his present and the decorations. I told Mea, we need to keep this a secret until tomorrow so we can surprise him. When Nick got home that day, Mea ran straight to him and said "we got you a surprise....shhhhh!" With that we all laughed and I went to change my clothes in the other room. When I came back in Nick said, "so you bought me a Spiderman card, huh?" What a rascal...she squealed! Nick and I were laughing because Mea could not stop smiling. She kept looking at me then at Nick, like she was going to burst until Nick knew the secret she was hiding. We laughed and I went back to finish getting ready. I then heared Nick laughing so hard I ran back to the living room. "You bought me Hellboy II?" No way, she told him the big surprise! I never told Mea the name of the movie....she must have heared me talking with the employees at Walmart when I was trying to find it! Nick told me that as soon as I left to get ready Mea blurted out "we bought you a present!" Nick, urging her on said, "what is it?" "A movie!" Mea whispered. "What movie Mea?" Nick questioned. "Hellboy!" Mea said.

So as you can see, Nick is not opening any presents at his birthday breakfast. Once he knew the secret he wanted the movie, so we gave it to him the day before his birthday.

I learned a great lesson....Mea remembers everything whether you say it to her or not!

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!!

Nick watches an outdoor television show each Sunday night and decided to enter their weekly photo contest. He submitted a few photos from a fishing trip last fall with his friend and has waited and waited almost 2 months to see if they would appear on the show. He got an e-mail last week stating that they were finally to his photos and that they would be on the show! So, Nick and I stayed up and watched the program eagerly awaiting their debut. The photo portion did not start until the last few min of the program. Nick and I were giggling as his photos were shown. Then they announced the winner.....Nick Montgomery! We started laughing so hard and Nick danced a jig like I have never seen!! We won a "camp chef" which is a standing 2 burner camp stove valued around $170.00. Oh, yea!! Nick and I could not stop laughing all night. Great picture honey, and man can you dance a jig!!

Oh, what fun!

I know everyone has had one of those days where everything goes wrong and you think to yourself, "what else?" The other day, I was lucky enough to have "one of those days." Mea and I just got home from play group and I was feeling hungry and tired. All I wanted was to eat lunch and just relax. It was about 20 min before Nick was coming home for lunch....perfect, I thought, I will surprise him with BLT's, our favorite. So I get Mea set up at the table eating a bowl of cereal (the only thing she wanted) and I start cooking the bacon. I decided to try cooking it on my flat griddle I use for pancakes. As I am cooking, all the grease starts smoking and soon my apartment is filling with a nasty bacon smoke. Meanwhile, the grease has started to drip off the griddle, down the counter, and onto the floor. Great, I thought. Just as I found a container to catch the grease, Mea topples her full bowl of cereal all over herself and the floor. Okay, I can handle this! I get her in the tub, rush back to the kitchen and my bacon is burning. By this time, the smoke is getting really bad. I open the windows and open the door.... and yes, it was a freezing and snowey day! I get back to the kitchen and try to rescue what bacon has survived and and notice the plastic container (real smart Kaycee) I found the catch the grease has melted and all the grease is fast flowing onto the floor. Take a breath, this isn't that bad. So I start cleaning up. Spoke too soon! Mea comes running into the kitchen screaming, "I pooped! I pooped in the tub and I touched it!" Perfect...what else?

This all happened in the 20 min before Nick got home. Definately the highlight of my week!
