My parents came up for Rexburg's Snowfest yesterday so Nick and my Dad could participate in the Polar Bear Swim. Yes, they jumped into ice cold water in their swimsuits in the cold January temperatures (20 degrees)! Nick did a belly flop and couldn't tell if the severe pain was from the icy water or from the giant slap his body felt when he hit the water. My Dad followed with an amazing cannon ball where he not only splashed all of us watching, but he hit the bottom of the pool. My mother and I were totally in awe of their pure manliness and couldn't have been prouder. Above is a picture of them after the big jump. At the end of this post is the video of their descent into the icy waters. The funny part is, they are already making plans for next years jump. The video isn't the greatest, we found it hard to film while being splashed and sliding down a hill.....so I was informed that next year they are going to hire their own professional photographer!
